Summary Judgement
On June 30, 2010, at 9:00 a.m., there will be a Summary Judgement Hearing at the Travis County Court House, 1000 Guadalupe St., Austin, TX.
It is very important for you to attend this hearing! We need to have the court room full of horse owners that believe they have the right to choose the care of their horses.
The State Vet Board did not follow administrative procedures for rule changing when they cancelled the Public Hearing in April of 2007…and now, this has become our “smoking gun”. This is why it is important for the court room to be full to show the judge AND the Vet Board that you want to be heard!
This fight is NOT over, but a victory at this hearing will be a major step! If you feel strongly about this, please attend!

In 2007, Carl Mitz, a non-veterinary equine dental practitioner with over 30 years experience, was issued a cease and desist order from the State of Texas. They claim he practiced veterinary medicine. Miniature horse owners use the services of Carl Mitz throughout the world. Carl’s research and experience is an asset utilized by the horse community, veterinarians, and students around the world. He’s a co-author of Dr. Tom Allen’s Manual of Equine Dentistry. The TSBVME has yet to produce a single consumer complaint against Carl. They arbitrarily found him through a Google search of questionable legality.
